“I cannot wait to trek Machu Picchu and travel South America with you, mate” – the last words I heard from my friend Josh in person, before he tragically took his own life. – Nick Bloom

In memory of his friend, Josh Sutherland, who sadly committed suicide last July, our colleague Nick Bloom has been fundraising to raise money for the mental health charity, Mind. He will be going to Peru where, with a group of thirty, he and three friends (Chris Halkett, Tom Bradshaw-Smith and Matt Fletcher) will trek to Machu Picchu, something he had planned to do with Josh.

Josh, an aspiring actor, was just 26 years old when he took his own life. Suicide is now the biggest killer of males under 40 years old in the UK. After tragically losing their friend, Nick and his friends felt compelled to help Mind in their brilliant work in supporting those with mental health issues and their loved ones.

Through various fundraising teams, ‘With Josh in Mind’ group has raised over £32000. Some of the fundraising activities include the Tough Guy run, football matches, Golf nights, music nights and much more. You can read more about some of these fundraising events here.

Nick will be going on the charity trek with Discover Adventure on the 29th October.
