It hardly seems like a year has passed since Caroline joined the SME panel. We’ve worked and continue to work with Central Government, we’ve continued our work in the NHS and we’ve worked hard at developing ‘products’ to move into the private sector with.

As we’ve been expanding so too has the SME panel. With the goal to ensure that £1 of every £3 invested by Government in goods and services goes to small and medium-sized enterprises by 2022 in mind the panel have been looking at key strands of government procurement activity.

The panel has been divided into many groups, these include:

Meet the Buyer – This group looks at new ways and how to improve the process to put SMEs in touch with government buyers so they can better understand government’s requirements and respond to tender opportunities.

Contracts Finder – As all government adverts for contracts above £10K and non-devolved public sector contracts above £25k must be advertised on the Contracts Finder website. The group works with Contracts Finder to identify improvements to the way the website works and how to drive greater transparency of opportunities.
