Role Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Modelling / Analyst & Simulation modeller graduate to play a key role in the delivery and development of our continued offering to our clients across the UK.

Simulation and Modelling is central to Caja’s offering to clients in enabling us to concept prove, assess the initial feasibility, forecast and plan potential scenarios in the future to help clients overcome their challenges and deliver real benefits to them. We are looking for someone who is expected to get a 2:1 or higher in Economics/Mathematics/Computer Science degree (or related subjects) and ideally has an interest in working with large datasets to solve complex problems. A familiarity with current tools such as Excel, Power BI, Simul8 etc would also be an advantage.

This role will require a person with the ability to visualise and analyse complex systems based on analysis and consultation with clients and build them into simulation models. They will also be somebody who is well organised and good at understanding the ‘big-picture,’ while also having a keen eye for detail and are strong communicators in being able to explain their models succinct to key stakeholders with less technical expertise than themselves.


Caja 2-Year Tailored Development Programme

The successful candidate will be placed on a 2-year mentored development programme to ensure they attain a transferable set of skills whilst meeting clients’ expectations and helping to deliver successful programmes. This programme will ensure that in the future that they are equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to progress into a wide variety of roles within Caja.


Key skills that will be learnt: 

  • Modelling & Simulation – Learn to apply your knowledge combined with the customer needs in modelling and simulation for research, training, analysis or decision support. Moreover, learn how to ensure your models are scalable and extendable to allow incorporation of future requirements and growth.
  • Stakeholder Management – Learn to engage with the model users, understand and respond to their needs and ensure that the model is fit for its intended use.
  • Customer Management – Learn to understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these requirements
  • Project Management – Learn to scope, manage & deliver successful projects
  • Change Management – Learn how changes requested by clients on projects can be simulated into your models to rationalise the benefit of accepting the proposed change to ensure that they do not adversely impact the overall cost/benefits case
  • Presentations – Learn to give professional presentations that wow clients
  • Customer Management – Learn to understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these requirements
  • Report writing – Learn how to analyse all key information and in turn produce a succinct report that meets its objectives.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

We will mentor and teach you the core skill set listed above, and we also understand that as a graduate you might not have had the opportunity to have necessarily developed the specific skillset for this role yet. However, there may well be opportunities that you can demonstrate your transferable skills from the ones listed below that we are looking for within your CV, e.g. a part-time job, playing for a sports team or volunteering at a local charity.
